Key Equipment: Vacuum Emulsifier / (Jacketed) Mixing Tank
This document describes the process flow and equipment configuration of the wet wipe soaking liquid (medicated liquid) production line, focusing on the line layout built around the core solution preparation equipment — the Vacuum Emulsifier / (Jacketed) Mixing Tank.
Wet wipe soaking liquid (medicated liquid) is an impregnating solution made from purified water as the base, supplemented with preservatives, humectants, surfactants, flavors and functional medicinal ingredients, through heating & dissolution, mixing and homogenization; it is used to wet non-woven fabric to make wet wipes (including cleaning wipes, disinfectant wipes and functional care wipes). The core process is to fully dissolve and uniformly mix all ingredients in the jacketed equipment, forming a clear, stable impregnating solution with uniform efficacy. The uniformity and stability of the solution directly determine the cleaning, disinfection and care effects of the wipes, and are the key links of the whole production line.
By material flow, the wet wipe soaking liquid (medicated liquid) production line is divided into four functional zones — pretreatment, solution preparation, wetting & forming, and filling & packaging — organized around the core solution preparation equipment (Vacuum Emulsifier / (Jacketed) Mixing Tank):
| Functional Zone | Main Processes | Main Equipment | Function |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pretreatment zone | Raw material inspection, weighing & batching | Electronic scales, batching containers, purified water system | Inspect and weigh raw materials such as purified water, preservatives, humectants and flavors |
| Solution preparation zone (core) | Soaking liquid preparation, dissolution, mixing, defoaming | Vacuum Emulsifier / (Jacketed) Mixing Tank | Dissolve, mix, homogenize and vacuum-degas all ingredients in the jacketed mixing tank to prepare the medicated liquid |
| Wetting & forming zone | Liquid inspection, non-woven wetting, folding & cutting | Inspection equipment, wetting/impregnating device, folding & cutting machine | After the liquid passes inspection, wet the non-woven fabric evenly and fold and cut it into shape |
| Filling & packaging zone | Packaging, finished product inspection | Packaging machine, coding equipment | Seal, package and label; inspect finished products before warehousing |
Materials flow sequentially from the pretreatment zone into the solution preparation zone, wetting & forming zone and filling & packaging zone, forming a continuous, closed and traceable production flow.
The typical process flow of wet wipe soaking liquid (medicated liquid) products is: raw material inspection → weighing & batching → soaking liquid preparation (vacuum emulsifier/mixing tank) → liquid inspection → non-woven wetting → folding & cutting → packaging → finished product inspection & warehousing. Each step is described as follows:
| No. | Process Step | Step Description | Key Control |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Raw material inspection | Inspect raw materials such as purified water, preservatives, humectants, flavors and medicinal ingredients; store them for later use after they pass | — |
| 2 | Weighing & batching | Accurately weigh the purified water and all soaking liquid ingredients according to the formula | Accurate proportioning |
| 3 | Soaking liquid preparation | Charge the purified water and all ingredients into the vacuum emulsifier/mixing tank; heat to dissolve, mix thoroughly, homogenize and vacuum-degas to prepare the medicated liquid | Preparation ★ (core) |
| 4 | Liquid inspection | Test the prepared liquid on physicochemical indicators; use it for wetting after it passes | Pass/fail judgment |
| 5 | Non-woven wetting | Impregnate the non-woven fabric evenly with the liquid through the wetting/impregnating device | Wetting amount |
| 6 | Folding & cutting | Fold and cut the wetted wipes into the set specifications | Uniform specifications |
| 7 | Packaging | Seal, package and label; inspect finished products before warehousing | Sealing integrity |
Note: The step marked with ★ in the table (soaking liquid preparation) is the key process control point, and the soaking liquid preparation step is the core control link of the whole production process.
The Vacuum Emulsifier / (Jacketed) Mixing Tank is the core equipment of the wet wipe soaking liquid (medicated liquid) production line. Its main body is a mixing tank with a heating/cooling jacket, integrated with a vacuum system, a homogenizing device and a wall-scraping stirring device, combining heating & dissolution, mixing, homogenization, defoaming and other functions in one unit, ensuring all soaking liquid ingredients are fully dissolved and uniformly mixed.
| Item | Description |
|---|---|
| Function | Heating & dissolution of purified water with preservatives, humectants, flavors and medicinal ingredients, mixing, homogenization and vacuum defoaming — the key process that ensures the uniformity and stability of the medicated liquid |
| Main structure | Mixing tank with a heating/cooling jacket; steam or cooling water circulates in the jacket for temperature control |
| Stirring system | A central paddle works with a wall-scraping paddle to ensure thorough mixing of the liquid and prevent wall sticking |
| Homogenizing system | A high-speed homogenizing device achieves full dissolution and uniform dispersion of all ingredients in the liquid |
| Vacuum system | The tank is evacuated to remove air and reduce oxidation, improving the clarity and stability of the liquid |
| Temperature control | Heating and cooling through the jacket, combined with temperature sensors for precise preparation temperature control |
| Advantages | Closed operation, good hygiene, uniform dissolution & mixing, stable liquid quality, easy cleaning (CIP) |
In the production line, the Vacuum Emulsifier / (Jacketed) Mixing Tank receives the purified water and ingredients from weighing & batching and completes dissolution and mixing under heating, vacuum and homogenization, producing a uniform and stable medicated liquid, which then passes through liquid inspection and non-woven wetting into the subsequent folding, cutting and packaging processes.
